I wish I had searched here before buying my K&N intake kit. I just assumed what worked for my gas would work for my new diesel. Now that I've already blown the money and installed the thing, Is there any type of a pre-filter or anything that would help filtering out the turbo dusting contaminants. I'd go back to stock but my wife would freakin' kill me if she found out I wasted some of "our new kitchen" money on something that is bad for my truck.
Thanks in advance for the advice!
You will most likely be fine, I would only worry if you are doing a lot of off roading. K&N makes an "outerwere" that I use on all my quads/dirtbikes. There is a lot of people that use K&N with great results. Don't worry and enjoy!
Don't feel too bad I did the same thing with a Bullydog intake only difference i started reading here before it arived in the mail. It's still in the box in my garage.
i had a k and n on my 2006 for 12k it dusted the turbo and i called them and told them what it did and i shipped it back to the for a full refund, i put the stocker back on.....

How pissed will she be when you tell her your truck is down for a dusted turbo?
Doesn't K&N have 100% satisfaction guarantee? If so send it back and tell them your not satisfied. Then your wife would be 100% satisfied with the "new kitchen money" you gave her!

It could be worse.....
You could be having to tell the wife "I have to get rid of this new one and buy a stock one, because I already threw it out"...
WAIT!!!! Tell me you still have the stock one...
Where in MA are you? Don't forget to check out the New England region forum... We have been getting together about once a month..
Hey look at the bright side, at least you don't have to tell your wife the next 3 months house payments have to be hijacked to buy a new turbo for my truck.
I had put the AFE on my truck and the cel light went on. Called afe and they said wait 8 weeks and we'll have a new pipe to you. 15 weeks later I called and they said it would be another 5 weeks. That afternoon I took the afe off my truck and put the stock back on. Its wonderful to drive with that dam light off......
I learned my lesson about 2 things. Stock intake is just fine and afe has lousy customer service.
