What shocks do recomend for replacement..What about brake pads??? I hate the dust of a cheap pad. And one more thing what about synthetic oil?? My dealer says only Rotella T non synthetic in the 7.3 The synthetic oil doesn't work as good in the 7.3 as it does the 6.0. I really like the feedback of whatever you guys are running. Just bought this truck and so far so good. 2001 4x4 Limited with a 7.3....Thanks.....
Bilstiens are exectional shocks. Well worth the extra cost.
Brake pads are very subjective, I am happy with my Hawk pads right now. For the dust issue, give your wheels a light waxing. The wax will help keep the wax off and ease cleanup.
I like Royal Purple oil/fluids.
Bilstein. Period. There is no other shock in this world to consider. Anything else is either built for a race application, or its a peice of junk that will go bad in a couple months. Spend the extra for the billsteins now. Do it once, do it right. I have a gasser so i cant really recommend an oil for you. As far as brake pads go, look into the cryogenically frozen rotors and hawk pads. There is another thread on this topic going right now in the excursion section.
