Hi everybody. First off, this is a very cool site with tons of useful info! I have been wanting a leveling kit for months now and I think I am finally going to get one. What do ya'll think... should I go with the auto spring 2inch or daystar 2inch? Will a leveling kit make the ride more stiff? If anybody out there allready has a kit on their truck I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
I went with the autospring (check out pics in my gallery) and the ride remained stock. Installed it myself (no special tools needed, unlike the daystar kit you'll need a spring compressor) in about 2.5 hours. With any leveling kit you'll need an alignment of the toe.
I guess I should goahead and get the 2.5, plus I am going to put on a grillguard which will add some weight to the front anyway. Did you buy new shocks for the front?
No, when I put the kit in the truck only had about 35000 miles, not enough to really worry about new shocks, plus I would need the spring compressor tool to disassemble the front strut assemblies in order to remove the shock.
I just got the daystar 2.5 installed yesterday. So far so good. I believe i've read in a post on here that daystar is better if you do a lot of off-roading. Search it and you'll find it.
Hey guys have you thought of the new Bilstein 5100 series shocks. They have a feature of added 2" of lift in them. This way you get your 2" of lift plus a great set of shocks for a better ride. Im looking into them for my truck just wanted to give you all a new idea other than the spacers. Im not to wise to the spacers cause of wear and that extra part on my truck. Looks more stock too.
I have the 2" AutoSpring leveling kit and haven't had any problems with it.
I would prefer the Bilstein 5100's but they are almost $400.I paid $84 for my 2"AS and it cost me $40 for an alignment.
Any pics :-), yea what a difference in $, I wonder if the extra $ would make that much of a difference in the ride??????
Thanks
