What is top end in with the 6.0 when tuned to the max with sct 1704 and 4" mbrp exhaust took mine for a workout and got scared after spedo was pegged at 100mph for a little while! Wow what a truck! Owned the truck for 2 years now. First time I had the guts to do this so I am just curious.
Jim to install the SCMT 1704 you have to agree to raise the speed limiter, so with the performance tune, he was definately going faster than a 100 mph.
My Stock Truck, and Yours is speed limited to 100MPH. Without a MOD, its not possible to get the 6.0 to 100+.
Buy the way, I want to know how to MOD mine
it is possible to beat the governer on these trucks without a mod, when you reach the speed limiter, just turn the key to the start position and voila, tons of power and these things move, cuts itself out at about 3600 rpm and then you have no power for a little bit but it always comes back
Thanks for the input guys going that fast in a 8000 pound truck was a little scary but it was all worth it will not make a habit out of it though can't afford the ticket LOL
I've floored it to pass people in a 60mph zone and before I can get past 3 or 4 cars I'm usually at 95mph and still accelerating hard. The best part is when you got to pass and someone in a car thinks they are faster and whip out in front of you and they cant get out of your way. One of these days Im installing a frieght train horn and gonna blast them. Had a guy in a suped up crx come flying by me and didn't think much of it so I stroled up behind him at a light and he was reving his engine up so I told my buddy to hold on, the light was fixing to turn green and I started preloading my truck, light turned he took off, saw a smile on his face and then I launched the truck, broke traction and was black smoking up behind him fast, his face went from eat ***** grin to omfg I stayed bout 4 ft off his bumped while he shifted his little heart out in a crazed panic and I had to let of to keep from running him over. My buddy thought for sure I was gonna run him over and I was laughing the entire time, the look on that guys face, priceless!

Let me get this straight. Turn the Start Key???? Wont my starter engage and sheer the teeth off? Do I hole the key, or just Momentary?

No, you quickly fick it off and back on again. Just don't turn it all the way off and lock your steering and have an accident. Other guys around here do it. Haven't done it myself and don't ever plan on it. I believe the speedo will stop working so you won't know exactly how fast you are going at the time. I think that's how it overrides the governer.
It is my opinion and mine only, but if I was approaching 100 mph in a 7K # truck I would not want to be messing with a key and turning it just to see what the hell happens to maybe go over 100 mph!
I have to agree with you there, way safer to get a tuner if you want to go faster than 100mph, too many things happen at that speed to be pre ocupied with turning the key on and off.

these trucks can go over 150 but not for long as you're egts will climb fast
cause you're well over 4,000 rpm.
Just keep in mind without the proper speed rating on your tire it's risky
but to me it's safer than going that fast in my old lx mustang cause you dont have to worry about front end lift ,the superduty just drives nice and stable
above 140 .
i just hold the key in the start position, with a standard if you don't have the clutch in the starter will not engage, automatic starter will not engage with the truck in gear so there is nothing to worry about unless something shorts, yes the speedo goes back to 0
