actually i believe 150 is about max on these things, unless you swap in some higher gears because with 32" tall toyo proxes with stock gearing, a friend had his lowered CC SB 6.0 running at 4150 rpms in Top gear. He calculated that at 4000 rpms he was running like 146mph, so add another 150 rpms he was probably over 150. But he said it was scary as crap, even in a lowered truck and this thing sits way low on the ground!

By the sounds of the last few posts I was missinformed. Once you think about it if you flicked the key to off and back on you may run the risk of it turning off or worse......

once you release the key then the computer is able to come back on and it sets the speed limiter again, you need to hold it to keep it going from what i've found, also theres now way of knowing how fast we are going over 160 km/h anyways cause thats as high as the speedo goes

YGTBSM!!! My 03 is stock...when I had it out on the interstate and had to pass folks (I was towing a tandem axle open car hauler at the time) I was concerned when I looked down and saw I was at 95 and climbing. The truck was as stable as a rock but I backed off because I didn't want to contribute to the VA State Treasury.

I've always wondered what the truck could do...but still am not prepared to venture into that arena.

On June 30th, I'll get to take a couple of laps around the Talladega SuperSpeedway in my truck. Since I don't have a tuner, I guess I'll only get it up to 100. Two years ago, the wife got to do the same thing. She said it was a blast.

you should save up and try your best to get an SCT before you hit up the speedway man! it would be awesome! or when you hit the limiter, turn the ignition forward and just keep on going!

Or you guys can just put a switch on the Gauge fuse in the fuse box and shut it off at will. A bit safer.

I would love to put an SCT on it, but I'm waiting until I hit 100,000 on the odometer. If something major goes wrong before then, I don't want to give Ford any ammo to try to deny warranty coverage. I may try the ignition switch thing. I'll let yall know how much fun it is!

Seriously... the ignition switch is dangerous, Have you had success at it, yes, it will only take one time to lock your steering wheel or it not turn back on and you wont be able to control that beast.

This Mod is very easy. Remove the factory (gauge) fuse, It shuts off your odometer and speedo, make a switch that goes into that spot on the fuse box with a inline fuse. When you go in for warranty work put the fuse back in and be done. I used to race my 13.7 F350 CC long bed 4x4 using this when the 6.0 first came out..... Works perfect!!!!
