What about towing? When I am towing I notice my truck runs a little hotter (to be expected) during long grades it will get close to the 210 degree mark (I have many aftermarket gauges water temp being 1 of them) I just do not want to over heat my truck.

I have an '87 6.9 in a F250 that runs cool most of the time. (Original Ford temp gage) Would the hotter thermostat work in my 6.9???

I second the the glue around the T state housing mine seemed to have the orignal 195 t state and o ring in for the 79,000 original miles that are now on it. When i noticed that mine had a small leak to. I went to the dealer got a motorcraft 195 degree T state and O ring cleaned my stock housing up made sure it wasnt warped painted it with some crome paint I had reinstalled the T state and new O ring and used some honda bond HT I work at the dealer and the honda bond is good stuff in my opinion its semi drying gasket sealer no leaks so far I also used it on my HPOP gasket for extra protection since that was also leaking at the time i replace my T state

I share Fire Rooster's concern.
How hot is too hot for the oil? For the motor?
