replace Manual Lever Position Sensor (MLPS)

replace Manual Lever Position Sensor (MLPS)
No special tools or equipment needed. It has an N on the side of it for neutral. Make sure your tranny is in neutral, line up the mark and tighten the bolts.

In case you haven't verified that the mlps is bad, here is quick check for a connector problem:
