I have just got my 4" lift and wheels and tires installed and my steering wheel is facing staight up and down, driving my crazy! Is there any way to straighten it up without an alingment?
Ha, I had that too. If you follow the drag link (the steering arm from the pitman arm to the knuckle) you will see a adjuster almost near the pitman arm. Loosen the clamps with a 15mm wrench, and use a short prybar (not screwdriver) to spread the clamp enough to spin it around. I am not sure which way you need to go, just do 3 turns one way, tighten it up, and go test drive it. It will take 4-5 times most likely. Spec is 40 lb-ft on those bolts.
Kris, do you write that stuff down when you do it? It's been more than a few months since you put that lift on and a couple since you took it off. Or do you actually remember it all?
You should see the sticky notes posted on my wall.... inside my head... Yes of course i remember it. Couldn't tell you what i learned in "multicultural literature" class last semester, but i could tell you something i saw on here 18 months ago.
