door ajar light?

I have an early 99 F-350 Crew Cab Auto. After I got to work today, I noticed my dome lights and cargo light were on about an hour after I shut the truck down. I got in and checked the dimmer switch to make sure I hadn't bumped it and it was in its normal position. I also made sure all the doors were shut and the lights still stayed on. After about 45 minutes, I looked over and noticed they were off. On the way home, the door ajar light was on the entire trip. I noticed that when I accellerate from a light, the dome lights would turn off and I could hear a click under the steering wheel but the door ajar light still stayed on. When I slow to a stop at a light, I heard the same click and the dome lights would come back on. I pulled into the driveway, the lights came back on and stayed on when I shut the truck up, and they just now turned off (I have been home nearly 30 minutes.) Does anyone have any idea whats going on?
