Out of noware the truck battery is completely dead... So I replace
it because the old one was due. I clean up the connectors and (Ect.)
two days later the new battery is COMPLETELY dead.
So I recharge it and I go through the truck completely checking
all lights stereo amp. glove box Ect. And nothing is on or drawing
power but it still dies in two days what would be the next suggestion
I also took a volt meter to the battery and removed fuses one by one
and no voltage drop.. so I dont know what's next
Any help would be great.........Thanx
First have you used a hydrometer on the new batt? Second have you tried removing the neg batt cable and put a test lamp between the cable and batt post to see if it lights up and if it does try your pulling fuses routine to see what is drawing the power. Hope this helps and Good Luck,
Rick

Have you checked to make sure the alternator is working? Normal volt-meter readings should be around 12V or so across the battery when it's not running, and 13V - 14V across the battery when it is running. i.e. you should be able to see that the alternator is increasing the voltage when the engine is running.
Not sure about yours, but my '85 had a seperate voltage regulator that I had to replace twice because my battery wasn't getting charged.
With the motor off and key off. Take the battery lead terminal off of the alternator and check for a small amount of arching. If none, leave it off unless you are driving it. If the lead archs the alternator has suffered a spike and needs replacement. If the problem goes away with the terminal off, the alternator has a fried diode. DO NOT replace with a discount alterntor. Use new Ford replacement only.
Thanks fellow fordsters after 4 hours and no schmatic I narrowed
it down to the EEC relay sticking closed...
Best part was it's only a 15.00 relay from the parts house
Sweet deal thanks again for the pointers Jeff
