odd shifting
I need help with some shifting issues....I've got a '98 4x4 ranger 4.0 auto. it isn't shifting at the right time(no check light) sometimes it will shift too soon like it thinks that it is going faster than what it is....sometimes no problems at all???
The problems seem to happen when it gets a little colder(for ca. anyway) Any advice would help

this is a common symptom of the valve body gasket being bad. its a pretty easy fix but is a little complicated. if you can get me your trans code off of your drivers side door panel so i can look into it.

I've changed the fluid and filter in the tranny(the code is d). also have changed the o2's and the IAC I'm starting to think that it's the #4 injector I've had the same problem with the #4 plug only lasting 3000-5000 miles B-4 the center part would be gone. nuthin' is hitting the plug and it doesn't look discolored....and sometimes i get a p0174 code pop up sayin' too lean. I would rather sell the darn thing and buy a chevy--but its paid for!
