OK this might be a really dumb question. But I am old school and a bit on the dumb side some days.

I have a 1988 F150 2WD with 35 Tires. I have ate about 4 trans in this truck. I have changed the R&P to a 4.11 I think. I have a boneyard trans right now. I was not planning on keeping the truck but having my 86 totaled out has forced me to dig the 88 out of the snow and get it running. With the help I have gotten here it is running strong once more.

I was driving it around town today. Its not shifting right. I had to run it up to about 60 to drop in OD. After that it started shifing in around 45 like it should. It does not feel right shifting. Some are smoth others are hard. I do not rember if I did a filter change 3 years ago when I installed the trans. SO this weekend I plann on a filter change and new trans fluid.

My question ( sorry take so long ) with all the NEW stuff on the market what do you guys recomend useing on a 88 AOD trans? Money is not really a problem. No Im not rich but if it works better and worth the extra $$$ I'll sell something if I have to ! LOL I'm thinking my valve body might be a littel gumed up. I was thining of running some sea fome in the trans for a few miles just before I drain and change.

 

Run a can of trans flush and replace the filter and fill 'er back up. Run it for a while then put a bottle or two of lucas stop slip fluid or whatever its called. Its in the white plastic bottle.
