Hey people, I have a 2007 F150 XLT Supercab 4x4 with the 5.4L V8 i was wandering what the best cold air intake and exhaust combination would be to bring out the real power of my engine. I was thinking K&N and Magnaflow, whats your opinion on this???
K&N isn't bad, but the Volant seems to be the best one for these trucks.
Magnaflow or Flowmaster seems to be the two exhaust options, and a magnaflow sounds so much better, and might even perform alittle better too.
You could try searching this forum, for CAIs, and you could learn alot and figure out which one will give you the best result.
For more power, there are programers, like and edge which seems to be one of the better ones, or a custom tuner like the x caliber II (i think).
I personally put a glass pack and duals and keep the stock filter clean. The extra 30 or so hp from a tuner isn't worth the $400 and 93 octain gas to me.
I personally wouldn't put a K&N on my lawn mower do your research K&N does a poor job of filtering period, I have a magnaflow and stock air filter runs pretty good, also be for warned ford is developing a no tolerance policy on mods when under warranty on the diesel engines they have stated this point blank.
Thanks guys i think magnaflow would be the best exhaust option, but for air intakes there are alot out there such as AEM or AIRAID and others, i guess i'll have to do some shopping.
