Considering what I'm paying for Baldwins (and I consider them to be the best there is), the frequency of my filter changes, and the cost of that PurePower! filter, I figure my break-even point just on dollar outlay is at around 200,000 miles.

I've seen that sort of thing before, years ago. It's a stainless steel mesh and they claim that it filters smaller particles than the paper filter.
The problem that I have with that is how do you get those microscopic particles back out of the mesh at cleaning time? Heat it up red hot???
