I heard most people just cut the blue/pink wire and leave enough room to splice it back together if need be. Thats something i want to do too.

In the middle of the plug should be a (red?) TPA- Terminal protection assurance. This will pop out with a pick, then you will have access to the pin retainers where you can easily release whatever pin you need to remove. Pop the TPA back in, protect the wire with some tape or Heat Shrink, and you are done.

I added a black slide switch that's inside my overhead storage, It's barely visible and easy to reach.

Take a look at my gallery for pics of how I did it.

Well Marv, that's enough to put it on my "todo" list. I have a different sytle console, but I think there is enough room to put it in one of the compartments.

Bought the switch at All Electronics, www.allelectronics.com , but I suspect any Rat Shack would have slide switches. Funny thing, when I went to All's website, I didn't find the switch that I bought from them. Maybe it's a "non-catalog" item.

Any small or miniature switch would do.

How does the console come down from the headliner? Does it just pop down? It looks like the display is part of the casing and I don't want to damage it. Thanks!!!
