The casting number only tells you so much. Yours is a '78 casting made for full size Fords.. that's the first 4 characters. The second set of 4 tells you it's an engine block. All the rest of the numbers are rev changes, but I have never seen anythnig that specifies what those were. To figure out if this is a smaller 221-302 block or a 351 block, measure the deck height, 8.2" is a 221-302, 9.48" is a 351. Casting numbers on the crank will also tell you the displacement.
