dealer has recommend these 2 things when i was last there. Diesel induction service 179.95 what is this? and complete driveline service 279.95 what is this one? I try to avoid dealers if possible. I have a oil change package i got when i bought the truck so that is the only reason i go there. Jeff
You'll have to ask the dealer specifically what is involved in each of these "services". Sometimes the dealers offer worthwhile maintenance and fluid changes in these packages, but most times it's nothing but overcharging for simple checks and maintenance you can do at home. Find out exactly what they will be doing to your truck, then you can price it out and find out if it's really worth the money.
Induction service would lead me to believe that they change the air filter, check all the boots, possibly examine the compressor wheel for damage done by dirt leaking past the stock airbox, check or possibly clean all the pipes and boots leading from the turbo to the engine intake. To me thats not worth it because you can do it yourself for the cost of an air filter, and the cost of a can of Brakekleen.

Driveline service would prob just be change trans and diff fluids and check carrrier and u-joints. Ask about transfer case.
called the dealer an asked what these services were. Diesel induction is just the fuel line cleaner that they do I think they run BK diesel cleaner through it. nice for 179 bucks.. then the driveline is drain and refill the rear and front differential, and the transfer case fluids, even better 280 bucks boy what a racket... I thought the front and rear diff had lifetime fluids in them (per ford) anyway. jeff
The front and rear fluids need to be changed at 100K, or sooner if you submerge in water.
Definately don't do the induction service. You can run DK through a few tanks, or if you really want to clean everything up, run some bio-diesel for a few weeks.
