replacing my 302
I am replacing the blown 302 in my 1987 F-150. I will be getting the motor out of a parts truck. The engine has around 160,000 miles on it. I am wondering exactly what I should do to the motor before I put it in the truck. I am on a limited budget and this is only a temporary fix to get the truck running, until I can build up a 351w for the truck. I just want the truck back in a mobile state, but I also dont want this engine to leave me on the side of the trail like the other one did. Any suggestions would be great. thanks guys!!!

Gaskets, seals, rings....all the things that keep the fluids where they should be. After that, just your normal tune up stuff i.e. sparks plugs, wires, oil, so on and so forth. That is probably the cheapest way to keep it from blowing up.
