Has anyone else read the article on pickuptruck.com about the new Chevys and GMC's HD's. They said they ran a loaded 6 liter vortex max against a 07 V10 and the 6 liter gasser out ran it with a load. I find that hard to believe being the v10 has almost a hundered more FT lbs. of torque. What do you guys think?
When I go to build a 2007 truck I cannot pick the 6.8L and 3.73 ratio; it switches to the 5.4L. In the article it states GM provided the competitor trucks, V10 and 3.73 ratio. I'm wondering if maybe they used the 5.4L in their comparison, or the V10 with 4.10/4.30 is more of a dog than the seat of my pants tells me.
Been reading that site for a while they are pro GM for sure , Can you belive how small the brakes are ? . S D still the king at 13.66". I am betting on typo for the gears. must have been std 4.10. Seems if that truck had 4.30's it would have done better. also the v10 is tight when newand needs a few miles to wake up.
I would also imagine there is a weight disparity between the Ford & the Chevy. There always has been. Not that it really matters because it was, afterall, a drag race and you gotta race what you brung but it really shoulda been noted. Bu then again, if they can't get the simple facts straight, why should I expect they get the nitty-gritty details right.
But that's the problem with a lot of those comparisons. Too shallow, not enough detail.
