Thanks for all the tips you guys have been giving me on the 86 f150 302 FI i have been asking questions about.
The backfire/rough idle run like crap problem got solved today! I pulled the adapter off the distrubitor cap and happened to notice shiny metal on the pickup that runs by the stator. The Pickup for the #6 cylinder was lightly scraping the sensor on the stator. I bent in in slightly and rechecked the timing while i was in there. Upon starting the truck ran GREAT best it has ran since I bought it. It was idleing smooth and fast, so fast I have to turn down the throttle stop screw.
I still need to hook up a timing light and set it perfectly, but it is running great.
Thanks again everyone, I got some more stuff to work on and will probally be asking more questions.
Thanks,
Mike
