I just got the SCT the other day from LIPD. All i can tell you is that this thing was worth every penny and i'm just running a street tune. I'm sure the guys at LIPD will love me for this, but give them a call and i'm sure they can give you an expert opnion on things. I've dealt with Jeremy and he's had an answer for all my questions.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong but it doesn't really matter what type of power adder your going to use a dealership will be able to tell even when it's removed, if they look for it.

i don't do any towing and only drive the truck on weekends. So for me it's just a toy but a toy i can't afford to blow up. When i got my tuner they sent me tunes based upon my driving and the fact that i needed a reliable truck that i couldn't afford to blow up. The tunes i got were an econo street, street and race. Right now i'm running the street tune and like those guys will tell you, unless you hammer the truck your gas milage shouldn't get worse just becasue you have the extra power. I've put the pedal to the floor a couple of times and even with just the street program the power difference is unbelievable!

Pre-programmer my truck was getting 18-19 mpg. And since i don't drive it much it takes about 2 weeks or so for me to burn through a tank. And i'm still working on my first tank with the street tune. Doesn't appear to me a difference in mpg so far.

Are the SCT original tune any good?
Anyone with a comparison of original tunes VS custom tunes ?
I would expect the custom tunes to be better but the orig should be as good as
an other canned programmer. Am I wrong?

The SCT canned tunes are made to run with a variety of trucks. The custom tunes are SO much better I don't see why you'd want to go with the canned tunes. You can basically get unlimited tuning support from a custom tuner (LIPD anyway) taylored to the way you use or drive your truck. I may be wrong, but I don't think pricing is that much different or higher, but well worth the extra money in the long run.

I just got the sct in my truck week before last from Matt at LIPD. He came and met me and custom tuned the truck and even went with me to see how I liked the power increase. If you have a computer you can have them email you any program they have for future expansions or upgrades so in my opinion going with anyone else is simply throwing you money away for canned tunes. Service and support mean alot when you are talking about something as expensive as the rigs we drive

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay cause LIPD for custom tunes was very reasonable compared to where I shopped.

That's what I was looking for! Thanks
I bought the XCal from LIPD and just playing with the different canned tunes
I see a big difference, so I wanted to know what I was getting for the
extra money. Price was very good for additional perfromance.
Any Recommedations on which tunes, before I call Matt?
Running empty 95% and 5-7K lbs towing the or 5%.

Ask him for the Suncoast2 tune and see what he says--LMAO. That's a test tune that's not for street use or sale, but he'll sure wonder where you heard it til he reads this post.
