And i Live in Ill. When i ordered it i ordered the heater cord but i could not find it. well 2 weeks ago My truck sat for 3 day With minus -0 temps. And it would not start so i jumped it. Got it running and the engine Icon on the dash came on so i took it in to my dealer so they could check it out and find my heater plug. well they fixed it and and said i did not get the cord. but for $260.00 they would put one on it.As was Driving away and there was a paper on my dash That said .
your Vehicle Received revised engine control software to improve engine operation by cycling the Fuel injectors everytime the eingine is shut off.
The New Soft ware will not reduce engine life, Fuel economy or performance.
Well 700 miles later
around town i use to get between 13 & 14 mpg. Highway 15 - 17.5 mpg
Now im getting Between 8 - 9.5 mpg Around town, And 10.5 to 11.5 Highway
So I took it in they check it out and said there is nothing wrong.
I told them I don't think they had any right to flash it with out my permission
And I wanted it put back the way it was. they can't do that becasue they erasyed the old program.
Well this is my 3rd Power stroke Diesel
I Had 2000 7.3
And a 2003 6.0 that got 17-18 mpg for the first 6 months. then i let them flash it. and i never seen over 14 mpg for the next 2 1/2 years.
I don't know what to do I did'nt ok them to flash my 2006 6.0 they did it anyway with out permission?
Very Frushtrated

As far as the mileage goes, there are many other things that could be playing into your calculations. The winter blend of diesel fuel could cause poor mileage as well as the conversion from LSD to ULSD fuel. With the colder weather, air pressure in the tires is more critical as they will have lower pressures while the air is colder. When I took my '06 in for the flash update, I did not see any change in MPG. From what I understand, there were no other major updates in that flash, other than the injector purging.
