I didnt even look Carl... I was so pissed when I realized I could have grabbed the allens and saved myself a fkn headache.. I just high tailed it home... but unsure AND WITH OTHER CRAP ON THE PLATE - CHOSE TO JUST GET BUSY HERE. Man this caps lock key has a mind of it's own lol... I'll check that if I can get out there... If you want the whole thing I can see if it's in my budget... it's easier than the heads to be honest.. the headers have seen some time/high temp dunking and I wouldnt bother for the cost. But if the long block is under 4 bills I can do it. Intake was a dual plane C6AE i think...wasnt really worried about it as most folks seem to want a aluminum one.. Lemme see if I can get away and I'll do what I can on the bling I have to work with.
If the long block is out of my reach, any idea what your looking for in #'s on the intake ? It looks alot like mine without a oil fill up front (that I saw) has four holes and offset planes ... my book (Crist's how to) doesn't seem to list intake #s .. but I looked at it and seem to remember C6AE as the first of it.
For me if it's an iron intake I can't lift it and prefer aluminum.
For any member looking for a large port intake if it is one it would be valuable
to them vs a 2 barrel or some old resto needing a matching number intake.
As posted before, a shame to see 40 year old good iron become a Honda, some day we'll regret not saving this old iron.
Check what DSC wants for old intakes then decide is it worth the effort to snag it and pass it on to other members (your price). I'm a FE die hard knowing they can run hard, strong and long, damn the fuel mileage. These trucks have aerodynamics of a brick, style and class no modern plastic truck can duplicate.

Yeah I'm thinking to hell with the intake as it looks pretty stock..actually outside of the headers it looks like a drop in. If they'll cost it as the engine done if not to heck with it, but I'll wait till it's in the dozer troph to pitch it LOL...45 deg = 90% less work LMAO...
Bummer. Maybe they'll still be there next time. Those are nice heads. 2.09/1.65 size valves stock with std FE valve spacing and 72-75 cc chambers. If you get them later check the thumb prints to see if they have ever been shaved.
LOL I used to hide parts in cars at the bone yard and go back the next payday and get the parts. Few times the car was crushed in the meantime and lost the parts stash. Got to know the guys there good and let me store the parts I wanted till I got the cash up to pay for them. That's all gone now as they are all recycle and or transfer stations. Cars are stripped and the good parts shelved with a number. The rest is scrapped. Nothing older than late 80's if yer lucky. Maybe a rusty Chrysler K car fender at best ...LOL
Well whatever happens Robert I hope you have a chance to get them.
Asked for Friday off to help transfer a boat, but looks as though they may not really need my help up there. Might just swing by end of day Thurs and see if stuff is there. If so get up early Friday and head down there. Take Glenns advice and hide what I cant afford at the moment and go grab it next 1/2 price day. Crossed fingers
To stash heads I used to use the sunken spare tire area in the trunk of a big ol car of some kind. I put the fiber board and rubber mat back over and put the tire ontop with some other crap from the trunk. Worked pretty good. LOL for some parts I used to hide them inside the interior panels if I knew it would be a while before I'd be back. Just had to remember which car and what parts I hid! LOL like a squirrel looking for a nut he hid.
Got off early in hopes of getting by there to confirm the crap was still there. 16.5 miles = 1.15hrs travel time!!!! what the hell happens to people in Cali when it rains ? It's like the stuff is Kryptonite! instant "above the shoulder eunuchs" So with an arrival time of 7 min to late I get the joy of getting right back in with the crowd of jeweless wonders for a pleasure filed drive home... Guess it's pack up the tools and wheel barrel for a breakfast run!! just to see if it was worth it!! SRYMTHRFRKNSNBTNARGFRTEN....AHHH all better
I'm thinking to just grab the whole shabang if it's there "cheaper" than a 1/2 price day for heads and crank & rockers is my guess ? Can scrap anything not worth the effort later. 6/6 bolts/nuts beat, 60+ bolts and the lot of bs I'm likely to run into anytime (yes go ahead and correct me on the count Carl) I'm actually looking forward to the correct # haha
