O.K. I know this codes means imrc stuck open (both banks). I pulled my upper intake to check things out, everything looked good both imrc's had power and the vacumm lines looked good, the scanner I used showed that bank one wasn't working, so I replaced it. About 30 seconds after I bolted everything back together and drove off my check engine light came on again. I got the same codes (1537,1538) after the repair, I'm stumped, could someone give me some advice. I have a 98 with a 4.2 and 78k miles.

ps- owners manual says the check eng light may be reset by 3 driving cycles. a driving cycle is a cold start followed by at least 30 min of mixed city/hwy
