Redboat,

Thanks for your input and your input is probably more relevant than mine seeing as though I'm on the other side of the world.

My own experience with TAs has been shocking as has been that of friends of mine, but that experience is probably out of date seeing as though none of us use TAs now.

But I know a guy who has been using them because they fit his Cobra replica and the traction he gets is similar to what I remember getting from my '71 Charger, IE: really, really bad!

I had a set of Euro TAs on a 300hp Torana and they were bad! even though their main claim to fame was inline traction I found that lacking and the driveability of the tyre in sideways G was pretty bad too!

LT Tires ride hard and b y far are not required on an Explorer. Howevert on the otherhand no one should ever tell you that it is illegal to put them on that is totally false...I would never do it because that is way to much tire for an Explorer unless I wanted 31x105x15 then the 6 ply would be fine since it is the only way theycome..Butdefinately not needed.

I don't know why Discount Tire Co. doesn't want to put LT tires on my Explorer, but its on their computer, or was in November 2005 when I bought my tires, I saw it. Maybe it has to do with all of the lawsuits that have been filed against Ford and the manufacturer of tires that were on the vehicles when they rolled them over or had other accidents. Probably the same reason I can't rent a trailer from UHaul, yet if I had a Moutaineer, I could rent one.

Flash635, what do you do in Brisbane?

You are absolutely correct, it is all about the rollovers which by the way happened with P rated tires.

Costco will not install LT's either

Probably most of the things you do in La Cruce, possibly with a bit more .

Do you mean what my job is? I'm a finance broker.

I spent a week or so in Canberra and Sidney about 25 years ago. I realy enjoyed it. I was able to go to the Museum in Canberra on ANZUS day--a really neat place. I retired early about four years ago, so I spend a little time in the financial world trying to stay afloat. Thanks for your reply.

We've got ANZAC day coming up on the 25th, lest we forget.
