'79 Bronco C6 slip
I love my '79 and just rebuilt the truck, except for the transmission. I mean I blueprinted the 400M, cammed it, roller chained it, etc., built new diffs for it, but didn't touch the trans. Now I've got a bad slip between 2nd and 3rd shift while accelerating. Probably from all the xtra torque the monster puts out. Any ideas?

I have a C6 in an 83 Bronco. Slips the same way.
My original C6 blew up on me (3rd gear went south right after my flexplate exploded.......literally). I took it to a mechanic that has been a friend of the family for 40 years.
He purchased a rebuilt C6 from a rebuild shop, slapped it in and it slipped between 2nd and third, and slips even out of park!
I told him we could play around with it and see if we could get it to run right, but no luck. So he went to take it back and the place was closed.
They tried everything but never got it working right. They tried everything short of rebuilding it, which is what they would've done. I told them I'd run it like it was until it fell apart and they could replace my motor mounts, tie rods and brakes all around instead.
I've used that Slick 50 stuff.........and I've used it in the past, and for the tranny it seems to help. I don't usually subscribe to these types of additives and I believe that most of them can do more harm than good, but this stuff works. It's only a band aid, and I'll need some serious stuff done eventually, but it's worth a shot.
If somebody knows a fix for the slip, please, jump in.

It could be a broken accumulator spring/sticking accumulator. Does it shift ok manually? If the tranny was blown, when you make the shift from 2-3 manually it would slip too.
