Radio Size Information?
Hello:
I have a 1999 XLT SD RC F250 and am looking to be able to install a double din sized head/touchscreen/audio/..... unit in the slot? The PO installed an Alpine 9847 head unit in the vehicle and there's still space above that for a small CD tray. I'm confused regarding the opening size? I'd like not to have to fabricate to get the touchscreen unit (a double din sized unit) to fit.
Anyone have any information?

There is slight modification required to the top of the opening. Several members habe installed the Pioneer nav (double din) with slight mod. Just get a dremil tool and shave it a liitle at a time

Thanks very much Racer. I've looked on Crutchfield and they show the Kenwood, the Pioneer, and Eclipse AVN units as fitting and no mention of trimming. Are they telling the whole story er what? Also been scoping out the Infill T3 powered by StreetDeck
It's measurements are Length - 7inches / 178mm
Height - 3.94 inches / 100mm
Depth - 8 inches / 200mm
which they purport to be a double din size.
