Ive heard that the drilled and slotted make a big difference especially if you have good pads. But what is a good brand though?

Stay away from drilled rotors. Dimpled or slotted allow gasses to escape, but unless you are paying for an extremely high end rotor, drilled rotors will develop cracks over time.

It's just my opinion, but I wouldn't put ANYTHING less than a cryo treated rotor on the front of my Excursion. Not after the terrible warpage (hot spot problems) my OEM rotors had, that no amount of turning would cure.

I went with the cryo treated Powerslot rotors. Those rotors, along with some Hawk LTS pads, cured the braking problems I had with the old rotors.

Some here have also used the ART cryo treated rotors with excellent results.

Whatever you get, it's only my opinion, but I'd only use a cryo treated set of rotors for your Excursion.

Do a quick search. Go back a year or so. You'll find a ton of testimonials about cryo treated rotors.

I have to second this, cryo treated is the only way to go period! I put A.R.T. (appliedrotortechnology.com) parts on mine on all 4 wheels and have never been happier. Can't say enough good things about these rotors and Performance Friction pads.

There have been many posts here speaking about the great results folks have with their Powerslot cryo treated rotors as well. Powerslots are cheaper than A.R.T. rotors, either way go cryo!

Love my A.R.T.'s,

Ive heard really good things about those cyro treated rotors. You can really beat the crap out of them and not warp them. Ive never used them though, thats what i have heard.

Same here, on my 2000 Excursion I went with PowerSlot Cryo and Hawk LTS pads. On my 1-ton I used the same rotors and the Hawk SuperDuty pads. The SuperDuty pads work just fine for daily use in my 1-ton, but the LTS pads are a bit grabbier with lighter pressure right off the go with cold pads/rotors. The SD pads seem to get just as grabby after you hit the brakes for a few seconds or after you have been driving...they are intended for extreme use with towing so the coumpound id not like the LTS. Its hard to explain.....I hope I wrote that so you understand what I feel. Compared to the Wagner pads I did have on the stock rotors...its not even in the same galaxy....this set up is great!

I see from your sig that you have a 4wd and lifted you EX, how is the handling and the comfort? I've heard that if I lift my EX the front wheel would look crooked, did it happen to yours? I also wanna raise mine 4".

The steering wheel is corrected during the new alignment by ajusting the tie-rods while keeping the steering wheel on center.

The front axle is kept on center by droping the panhard bar bracket from the frame to match the lift.

His truck has a Fabtech, so he has the drop bracket.....his front end should be exactly like stock in position, and if he aligned the truck his steering wheel was put back to center.

Typically a spring lift gets stiffer, and the heavier and the more shocks you install will stiffen it more yet.

BAJI26, Its a 2wd truck. I wish it was 4x4 haha. o well. Its a Fabtech lift kit. When we put the kit on the wheels looked crooked in the air but once you lower the truck and drive it a few miles, the wheels weren't crooked. The ride quality is the same quality as stock, mayb a tiny bit better. The thing i noticed the most that made me mad about the stock suspension was that when you went over a bump the rear end would feel like its fish tailing a little. The lift kit stopped that. It isnt aligned yet though, so the steering wheel is quite off (the cruise control buttons are facing the ceiling of the truck). (fabtech gave me the wrong pitman arm). I called them and they said that once aligned the wheel should go back to almost normal, not quite stock though. If you want to raise your 2wd x, deffently go with fabtech. Its a awesome kit.

BAJI26, by the way what % window tint do you have on your truck? I was looking at your gallery and that tint looks awesome on your truck. Is it legal?

Thanks Exactly what I was looking for... I will probably do mine in April or June, I am gonna upgrade my front brake ( Powerslot cryo and Hawks LTS). Where did you purchase your lift from and how much was it? Do you have a direct link?

LOL....nothing but Bilstien brother! Any shock but that and its not the same! Bilstiens are big buck at 60-70 per shock, but I sale them, I use them, and heck... i ship many of them to Australia to run the high speed outback in Queensland.

Bilstiens are about the best riding shock I have ever seen on a truck.
