How difficult is it to replace the fuel injectors in a 1993 ford f-250 7.3 litre with a factory turbo? Also do you need to have special tools in order to be able to
replace the fuel injectors?
Almost like changing spark plugs, but since the injector fuel lines are steel it is just a little harder. Also you have to replace the return lines while it is apart.
Having never done it before, you should figure on about 3 hours or a little less.
No special tools required, an air compressor is nice to have so you can blow any dirt out around the injectors before you remove them.
You may also need a pick to pull out the copper crush washers if they don't come out with the injector, but you can always make one out of a wire coat hanger if you don't have one.

be sure not to bend the steel fuel line to the separate injectors. just move them carefully out of the way enough to remove the injector. be sure to install a new crush washer on each injector and dont bump the bottom of the injector, it needs that little tip on the end. you will find one injector with an adapter on it (#1), you will need 2 5/8 wrenches to remove fuel line from that one. when you make the return lines, make one side at a time (duplicate the ones you take off as a set).
take your time and pay attention, you'll be okay.
well since we are on this thread on injectors, it dont seem to hard i got mine ordered will be here tuesday and i have a return kit on order too. i figure my injectors are shot i have talked to dave and may need to call you there dave on this task LOL, i figured my mileage and i am getting less the 10 mpg empty, but i need to ask do you need to bleed the injectors once installed??
you can leave the fastening nut loose on the injectors til you get fuel flow at them and then snug them up with a wrench. Remember DONT CRANK TOO LONG ON THE STARTER.
