HELP...truck quit running!!!
My truck quit running!
It's an electrical push-on, pull-off fitting right on top of the pump. Unless things have changed tons between your truck's year & mine, the pump is still belt-driven, so sits at the front of the engine.
See if you can find a copy of Chilton's Motor Manual or similar with good pictures & good instructions. Ask your local reference librarian (those folks are wizards). If it's a "reference" book, as at my library, you can't check it out, so take it to the photocopier & plug in lots of dimes & make copies of whatever you need. Be sure to include their "troubleshooting" section. Then staple them all together & keep it in the pickup in a plastic folder behind or under the seat. Or in the truck's toolbox, if you keep one. If you don't, you should start.
My uncles taught me, "there's no guarantee there will be (a man - we'll say 'a mechanic') around to help you when you need one, so learn to do these things, & always keep a set of tools in the truck. They have been so0o right! All of my boys learned to wash, sew, & cook; all of my girls learned to change oil, plugs, & tires; & it has saved every one of them major inconvenience - & once, a life - sooner or later. There's nuthin' genetic about much of anything past the ability to 'get' children or the ability to 'birth' them; & I have never seen work do itself so someone of the 'wrong' gender wouldn't do it..
I hope this helps..
