Passenger window sometimes goes down with either switch but does not go up. Motor is turning and window will go up with help but not on its own.....any suggestions?

Usually this is the switch. But if it does it with both switches, then it is probably either that the motor is weak (it's easier to go down than up), or you just need to grease the regulators (where the mechanism slides up and down).
Mine does the same thing, sometimes. The motor is weak.
The other day it happened. The window wouldn't roll up. I took the door apart and smacked the motor while I flipped the switch, same way you can sometimes get a starter to work.
Could be the plastic gears in the motor. They get stripped easily, so if you have the window up and press the switch to roll it down it will go down, but needs help going up b/c of the stripped gears. The gears were so bad in mine it would actually start falling down if I push the switch to roll it up or down, and sometimes it would come down a little on it's own when I hit a bump.
You can replace the gear($30) or the whole motor($50). Pretty easy to do. Do a search and you should find a post on how, if not I can explain it.
Mine did the same thing until it died completely...I wish I only paid $50 for a new motor....my rear window motor cost me $50, but my door window was $90....makes no sense.
