Thought I would share my bad day.
I plowed until 10 pm on weds after 20 inches of the white stuff.. Parked the truck outside as it had more snow all over it than my yard had. I didn't want to get the garage all messed up and humid with the infloor heat and all.
Next morn I go out to plow some more and the truck turns over and no start. -20 with wind chill. I get my heater and point it under the truck in the area of the gas tank thinking maybe froze fuel..Not!
So I put a charger on the batt and go to work diagnoising. No fuel pump noise. Ok check fuses no power to pump. Check pcm 30A fuse no power wiggle fuse, bingo. Never heard of that one. Get truck running go inside and warm up etc, get in the truck plow won't go up.....MAN GERRRR. solenoid clicking but no juice to output...HMMM. Get a pair of needle nose pliers and as my son pushes up button I short the two big terminals, I'm welding, then all is well I'm on my way. Never heard of that one either. Yippi. get to the driveway of the guy who called me and had to plow 2 ft of snow. Get mostly done and backed off the edge of his driveway and almost flipped the truck. It was leaning really bad.Tractor and a 4x4 truck no go. Shovel snow.Cold. Shovel some more. Call wrecker. Big Mary shows up and saves the day. When I was leaving my son say's dad you have a missing lense in your glasses. Great! I made it through the day barely.
Well, at least you made it though the day. Think, spring is just 8 more weeks away.
P.S. I had a wonderful day myself. I had to split my snowblower in half to change the auger belt (awesome design) in the same crazy weather you stated. We had 8" of sleet here in the valley of Massachusetts. That crap hurts when there is a 40 mph wind behind it.
I cant imagine snow 8 Feet high here. We are in West Texas and they cancelled the schools and closed most business when we were left with 3 inches. No I am not joking.
Makes me "almost" feel guilty. It got up to 72 here today. I had a couple of guys come over and detail my 5th wheel to get ready for a trip. Then got my F-350 DRW out of the shop (after they replaced both check valves on the high pressure oil rails) (under warranty).
The next day was a little better.. Only got stuck once but the emeg brake cable bailed out and the plow solenoid is junk, must have water in it cause it freezes every night.
