Question 97 f150 heater core ?

Hi to all, I have a copy of the removal & installation doc.
So my question is do you have to remove the freon from the aircondition in order to remove the heater core? Thanks to anyone for help,Kent

you'll have to get ur a/c recharged though, i just realized that after two weeks of having the heater core installed

No. Your AC and your Heater core have nothing to do with each other.

Your a/c should still work as it always did before you replaced your heater core. The only thing that remotely ties them together is the heater and a/c cond. share the same box under the dash, but thats it. So no, you will not have to have any a/c work done at all as long as you pay attention and be careful. Good luck!
