I will admit that I don't have a lot of hands-on experience with big gasoline engines. The last time I worked on a 302 was in my dad's 84 tbird, so my memory is a little rusty.
I now have a 95 Bronco with the 302 and an automatic trans. At any throttle level above idle it makes a continuous put that speeds up with the engine, but doesn't get louder or go away at any RPM. At 1500 it is maybe every .5s. I don't think it is pinging because it doesn't make a gurgling sound that I am used to for that.
Can someone help me figure out what the noise is and if I should worry about it.
The previous owner had it tuned up in August, but he was a little vague about what he meant by that. I know he had the wires changed, but I don't know about anything else.
I am pretty sure now that it is an exhaust leak. I'll repost when I have a chance to look around.
