2004 or 2005

The car is sold and the money is in hand.. I am ready and anxious to finally get my new (well... new to me) truck..
I have read these posts everyday for long hours trying to learn all I can about the f150's...
So...
Should I get a 2004 or 2005? Obviously the 2005 will be a few more bucks (which I don't really care about), but is it worth it? I read about a lot of 'new year' glitches/problem areas with the 2004's..
I know that there are many that have the 2004's with no problems, but personally I would be more comfortable with a 2005. I know this may seem like a silly post, but if anyone could help a newbie out, it would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

I bought an 05 and am very happy with it. I don't know first hand about the 04s but I never buy a truck with a brand new body or motor. I always give them a year or two to work out the bugs.

You have already answered your own question. If you can afford an 05 then get one, why wouldnt someone want the newest vehicle they can afford unless there is a specific reason not to?

The reason is that I heard there is no difference between the 04 and 05. So if I could get an 04 for less money and still have a great truck then I would. But if the 05 is that much better (less 'problems' then I would go with that one). That is why.

Definitly go with the 2005. If you get the 04 your always going to be thinking something might go wrong. It could turn out the complete oposite though and the 05 might be a problem. Its all about mindset. I think youll enjoy it more being aa 05. I too think you answered your own question, you just needed confirmation. I have a 05 and haven't had any of the problems a lot of the 04 were hit with.

The reality is the is a big difference between early and late 04s and virtually no difference between late 04s and early 05s. I have an 04 built 08/04 and has had none of the vibration or other major issues some have experienced.

All things being equal, miles, equipment, condition and price, an 05 makes sense just because it is a model year newer. All things will not be equal so pick the best truck. If you find a truck you like, drive it and if you find no issues take the VIN to your local Ford dealer and see if they can run a warranty history on the truck to see if it had issues. If it comes out clean, go for it.
