My bronco was a theft recovery. The interior was stolen. I bought rubber flooring for the front and have installed it. I want to rhinoline the back half of my bronco. Have any of you done this? How about the role on lining that you do yourself. I hunt and fish and offroad quite a bit. I know carpet would just get ruined I like the idea of the easy clean up I will get with rhino lining.
i would go with the rhino lining. i plan on doing the same thing when i get my bed pannel replaced. i don't plan on using the rhino liner, i am going to use under carraige spray. i did it to a friends ford ranger and it came out really nice. the only bad thing is it takes a few days to dry completely.
I have thought about doing mine as well. There is a company around here called Line-X that does spray on bedliners, and they are less $$$ than Rhino. I have heard the do-it-yourself bedliner is okay, but really not as heavy duty as the professional products.
Yes, this has been done several times to Broncos, it is popular in the Early Bronco community as well as the boys over at www.projectbronco.com
I plan to do this to my '78 when I rebuild it this next winter/spring, mostly because the carpet and interior in it are in pretty bad shape, so we'll be pulling it off anyway, it gives a nice waterproof finish to it. And the best part of this is if you get your feet dirty you can just wash out the inside easily.
You can just use any of the Bed liners that you want really, spray-on, Rhino, Herculiner or you know. I was just saying that it is pretty common, you best bet is to do the whole truck interior though, but thats just me, because then you can throw the rubber matts over it anyway.
Hope this was of some help.
I saw a web site about 6 months ago that had photo documented using a Rhino liner type of product. That guy did the entire floor of his Bronco - and about 1/3 up on the doors - in red to match the rest of the vehicle. Talk about easy cleanup!
By the way, I saw a new F-250 yesterday that the guy had used the spray on bed liner type product on the exterior of the truck - about 1/2 way up on the sides - with a nice inclined line going up toward the rear of the truck. Truck was white with black liner. Even got the bull bar on the front! Definitely different, eye catching, and he doesn't ever have to worry about scratches on his finish!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-Nov-02 AT 08:17 PM (EST)]Had my new tailgate Rhino lined on the interior side and up about halfway from the bottom on the exterior side. Mine has the brushed aluminum panel across the mid-section of the gate. They also took the spray nozzle off the gun and did the INSIDE of the gate itself. There is no moisture getting to that seam where every other tailgate rusts from the inside out. The grey color is a perfect match for my interior. I intend on having the back portion of the Bronco done in this as well. Hadn't considered doing the entire floor but it would make for easy cleaning and heck, no need for floor mats either!
I did it on this EB I built for a friend:

We chose the color-matched metal-flake Rhino inside and Herculiner on the frame.
Wow!!! Absolutely fantastic!! Still regret selling my '70 EB a few years ago. Gonna have me another someday and do a frame up too. Thanks for sharing the pics. I'm drooling at this very instant.
