You'll need to know the factory code to be able to enter your own code. I don't have a clue what you're referring to with regards to take the other one off or unhooking it.
WHat i mean is....i just got it and i'm not for sure if my Remote doesn't work or if i need to put the Code back in it (i put a new battery in my remote) But i don't know how to put codes in or where to put them in
if i need to replace the Keyless thing can i unhook it from the car or take it off to put a new one on
OK, now I see. The code is not in the remote, it's in the car/truck. You program the truck computer to the remote, not the other way around. The remote's code is hard coded into the chip inside. I've got 4 remotes and I've programed both my 2003 and my 2001 explorer to all 4 of them. First suggestion would be to try reprogramming your car to the remote, and if that doesn't work, try reprogramming to another remote.
Download the manual from the site I gave earlier. The procedure is in there. Basically you'll be turning your switch from on to run and back 8 times in less than 5 or 10 seconds. And yes that remote should work. That's the same guy I bought my spares from. I've had good results with him.
Go ahead and download the manual. It doesn't cost, and you'll find it useful in the future.
Not sure what that is. May be an aftermarket keyless. If you don't have the number pad on the drivers door, odds are very high that you also do not have a factory keyless entry, therefore the remote will not work, as it doesn't have the onboard system to work with.
