Post Need advice on a new Cam selection

Hi!

I have a 1990 Bronco with 302/5.0L EFI engine and stock for AOD transmission.

I need advice for a new cam.

I do NOT do much heavy towing only sometimes my jet ski.

Normally at highway speeds I’m at 2,000 RPM in “overdrive”
When towing I’m at 3,000 RPM in “drive”

I’m really slow on highway passing and want to improve the pick up in this RPM range while still preserving my 12 MPG.

Thank you in advance,
George

gvolosh,

Give CompCams and Crane Cams a call on their tech line. I know they have some good Speed Density cams for your application. Comp recomended the 31-255-5 cam with 114 Deg. Lobe Separation for my '89 F150. This might work well with your Bronco too. Seems to be more of a torque cam and that would probably fit the RPM's that you need to run.
