My reasons: Although I could afford the F150 FX4, and I WANT it, I didn't NEED it. I paid cash for the Ranger and have money in the bank from the F150 sale so now I'll be able to put that "car payent" in the bank rather than pay for what I refer to as a "shiny object" - material posessions that we think we NEED to be cool or better than the next guy.

Good point. How many out there drive luxury autos for the perceived quality? Alot, and the fact that they are status symbols, nothing more.
Although I could be driving a small car with much better gas mileage, I realize a Ranger serves my purpose and I don't need an F150. An F150 would be nice don't get me wrong, but as a daily driver? The Ranger will haul my ATVs just fine and tow a trailer.
