I went to my local international store to get some more red coolant and they only had the new blue junk. I just did a water pump on my 1999 f250 and didn't want to risk using something new.
Kwik, I have a 99.5 and I use that additive for the coolant. Will the rotella elc need that additive or does that mean I can stop using it. Thanks in advance
Kwik, I have a '00 and I use the green and add my additives with test strips. Is the "GOLD" any better in switching over to it since it has the aditives in it already and what I have read about ELC is this: "Do not use extended life coolants (ELC) as they can cause water pump seal and injector sleeve deterioration" Thanks

The ELC can be used without having to add anything to it.

From what I have heard, those issues were limited to 1997 and earlier engines.
You must flush out all the old green stuff before you convert over.
