You install a railing to the truck and the snaps go on this. You have to take the railing off to put the hard top back on. There's really no reason to put the hard top back on here in Texas. I guess the only reason you might put the hard top back on is if you live somewhere where it snows a whole lot???
The holes you put in the truck will all be covered up by the fiberglass top if and when you ever decide to put it back on. Except for the 8? on the tailgate. Those would be visible.
Oh yeah, the soft top actually gives you more head room and interior space than the hard top.
I checked out the Specialty Tops site and called them about a question that I had: The top is listed for '80-'91 Broncos, I wondered why not later years as I have a '95.
Answer: the top will fit, but you lose the rear-seat shoulder belt anchors (which are in the hard-top) and there is no "middle" brake light. Since these changes are not necessarily legal in all 50, they cannot "recommend" the top for use on '92-'96. But it will fit just fine.
Others have posted that they use them on their 92-96's. To stay within the "law" some put the tail light on their tire carrier somehow, and also get lap belts from the junkyard.
I don't know why Ford even used the fiberglass top on the 92-96. They obviously didn't want people to take it off. I mean come on, seatbelts hooking to the top? That's crazy.
I just had a rollcage & bikini top designed for my sons Bronco. I have it to where the hard top can still be put back for winter months. I had the seat belts mounted to the bar itself & they will stay there permenitly. Check out the pics in my gallery of it & if I can help let me know.
Having a great time customizing my sons truck for his 16th birthday!!
I like the soft top idea. I have a '95 Bronco and have heard that you have to reseal the hard top when you put it back on. Is this necessary and what advice is there for doing this?
No reaseal is nessarry. It has a rubber factory seal & mine was quite soft when removed. We had no problems. I gave the truck to my son Sat & he loved it! I loved it even more! Check out my gallery to see the custom roll cage & bikini top I had custom made.
Reseal?! Does anyone actually read the entire thread in these things?! Read the earlier posts in the same thread! For crying our loud. Engineers have done some dumb things in the histiory of the automobile but the idea of having to reseal something that is intended to be removed?! I'm just gonna quit posting on this subject all together.

Keep in mind there's more to Texas than Houston...
Get's just a *bit* colder up here in Denton County than down around you. Why, I'll bet you haven't connected your heater back up yet!
