Im finally wiring my truck. Yippiee! But Im having touble with understanding the lig switch since Im not using the original fuse box- Im using just the switch. For those of you who have been here/done this, I am in need of a wiring schematic for an OEM switch.
All help is appreciated.
Some of you helped me on a DC door seal issue I was having. I know ya'll have been holding your breath since I have'nt posted fo a while, so here's a short update:
I got the things installed and they work great. I was getting OCD about them fitting tooo tight and all. One of you (i'll research exactly who later) gave me the best advise of all, even after calling DC and other venders of how to solve my percieved probs. The advise was to install the seals on the doors, alighn them, and slam them shut and walk away for a few days. Man they work good now and I expect even better this summer when the heat gits on them. So very happy . Thanks to all for the great input...
Sorry can't help with the light switch, I will be figuring out mine soon as well. Just wanted to encourage you to post some pix. I like seeing what others are doing with their 57 - 60.
Nilla60, in my gallery there's a generic lighting diagram titled "Basic Lighting Generic" that might be of help understanding how the light switch works.
Hope it helps, Jim
oscarxyz,
I havent looked at my switch again but this looks like what I will need. Thank you very much. I dont see where the headlights go, tho..am I missing something?
Also, Im assuming the dashed box is the push/pull switch without the fusebox plugged up to it?
Norm, I think maybe I could have used a better term. The power from the headlight switch goes to the low/high beam selector switch. That should have nothing to do with the dome light fuse. Are you referring to the dimmer for the dash lights? I'm a little confused.

So are you saying the power for the normal headlight AND the highbeam goes to the foot-operated switch and then it is this foot-switch that toggles the power from "normal headlights" to "highbeams"?

Jim,
I went to your gallery. Nice truck! And I did see the schematics there.
Would you email these schematics to me @ rrcadd@aircanopy.net ? Unfortunately, the print is too small for me to read when i print it out.
When the headlight switch is turned on you send power from the switch (H terminal) to the floor mounted swich. That in turn toggles between low and high beam. Basically just switching that power wire between 2 sets of wires.
I'll have to check my fuse panel for a dimmer fuse. The wire coming off the H terminal should be through the headlight fuse or circuit breaker. If I remember right mine has a small silver plug in device for the headlights can't remember if it's a breaker or what. Anyway if you take the wire you want to check and put a test light between it and ground you can then pull fuses one at a time until you locate what powers it.
