pulling check engine codes

my check engine light comes on about 1min after starting, how do I pull the codes? it is a 95 F-150 302 auto . It runs great with no problems

Equus makes a new code reader that gives a digital readout instead of counting Led flashes. Comes with a book of instructions with a list of the codes. It cost around $40 and is well worth it IMHO. I used one on my '94 F150 and it was much easier than my old reader that just flashes an led.

I know you can use a paper clip to pull the codes, but I can not remember how to do it exactly. There was a post a few days ago that talked about it and I think that I read something on it in my chilton's manual. I will try to find it.
