i gotta get rid of that enormous intake they stuck under the hood of my 06 f150. (5.4 L). i want the best intake, dont care about the price. power and meilage are my main concerns. i was told air force 1. any input???? thanks
I here Af1 is one of the best.
But there all pretty close. I had a K&N on my 03 and like it very much.
I say get the one you like the look of the best and you'll be happy with it.
You wont see any noticeable power or mileage out of an intake.
I have the Airraid intake system on my 04 and couldn't be happier.
The system is as quiet as the stocker until you step on the gas, then those extra ponies make themselves known. I do a lot of highway driving back and forth to work, so I wanted it reasonably quiet for the trip, but still wanted the extra power when necessary. I originally bought the K&N, but took it back within a day as it whistled like crazy.
There was one small vibration issue with the Airraid air box that I had to fix, as the air box is powercoated metal and it was vibrating against the mount, but a little Dynamat soon fixed it right up.
It takes the air from the drivers side fender opening, as xtrford recommends.
where can i buy a outlaw cai? i can not find anywhere to order one thanks
please tell me it's not for the 2004 Screw in your profile!
Outlaw carries one on their site...as posted below...and as listed as a sponsor of this site:
I notice that air/fuel is missing from that dyno graph, and is never shown during those dyno tests. Many manufacturers of aftermarket products conveniently leave the air/fuel ratios off of their dyno comparisons when touting their "gains" from their product. Youy can simply lean the fuel mixture of any F150 by 1-1.5 points and gain HP without doing anything else.
