Okay, maybe this is normal, but it doesnt hurt to ask right? While at a light and the truck is at idel, if i let of the brake just enough to let it idel foward, is it normal to feel a surge in the truck? i does this 4 times a second, and it just seems like its chugging foward. Seems to be getting worse in time now.
Anybody else feel this? maybe im just making something small into something larger, but just want to understand whats going on here.
Mine does it as well. I wouldn't necessarially call it a surge per se, but I've attributed it to the brakes inability to hold the vehicle in place without adequate brake pressure. In my case, it really only seems noticable when I'm facing downhill and I don't have the pedal firmly planted. The truck won't exhibit this issue if it's on level ground or on an incline. So I've attributed it to the weight of the truck coupled with the power of the truck that's trying to propel it forward.
Are you sure it's not your brake disc's dragging, like in a little warped?
I thought the same thing in the begining. The brakes are fine. Im not sure when it started, as ive just noticed it a month or so ago. The pulsing happens at any level or road grade. RPMS seem normal, just kinda pulses with the engine. Not sure, this is my first 6oh so im curious if its normal, or somehting i should look into DS service.

In my case, it's entirely possible. I mean I don't have to have the pedal slammed to the floor to keep it from moving, but if I'm not thinking about it and my foot starts to get light, it will start to move. know what I mean?
Guess I never thought to much about the brakes being warped. I guess I thought when the rotors get warped, you'd start to feel pulsations in the pedal as you decelerate. I don't feel that during regular stopping, so like I said, I never thought that I might have a warping issue.
Dont worry... I have the same thing.. Just means you need to put more brake down.. Mine happens every now and then.. Kinda like its chuggin forward.. I just give more brake and I'm good
I know what you are talking about. I believe it is attributed to the brakes running off the power steering pump, instead of a vaccum pump like gasoline vehicles. For some reason, you have to apply a little more pressure than usual. I typically notice it when sitting in a drive-thru lane at fast food places, especially if I have bumped it up into neutral.

Makes perfect sence, im happy to know that im not the only one. With my 99 f-250 5.4 every little thing like this ended up being something that cost me more money than needed. Wanted to make sure this wasnt a warning sign or something else going wrong with my truck.
