will i be able to do this myself easily on the 6.0? Mines puked and i was trying to find it today, but theres a lot of stuff crammed in there and i didnt find it. It was pretty cold out so i wasnt looking for to long but i was underneath and on top, anybody have some advice for me on where it is and how hard it is to replace?
It's just above the starter on the passenger side. Easiest way to see it is to look in the wheel well (probably help to turn the wheel to the left). You should be able to follow the cord up to it also.
Sorry, but I have no idea how the heater itself is installed. If it's just the cord you need to replace it's fairly easy. I think there's a sticky in the tech folder on this.
If it's the heater itself, one of the techs will probably be able to help with that...

Do a continuity test on the cord if you already haven't done one. I can't even cpunt how many times I've had to cut off the end of the cord and replace the plug.

Look for this cord on the passenger side of the truck, above the starter. If it came form the factory it is orange colored. See my gallery for more pics of where it comes out and the plug.

What He^^^said. The element is bathed in coolant and rarely burns out. I've destroyed many a cord...That's my bet!...Brian
what i meant was that it was tripping my GFI plug on the outside of my house, i tried it again last night and this time it didnt trip it so i think i'm lucky and dont have to do anything, i must have had snow in my cord i guess even though i keep it sheltered during the day
