Dodge 4500/5500

Well it looks like Dodge is offering a new 4500/5500 series. I guess the F-450 and 550 will have some competition now.

Its on the Dodge website. They won't offer one with a pickup box like the new F-450 though. Thats what I want..an F-450. The Dodge 4500/5500 sit up a little higher than the 2500/3500's though...they have 19.5 wheels and front wheel well flares that integrate in to the front end....

Not really. Ford didn't offer a bed on the 450 until the 08 model, and you still can't get a bed on the 550.(at least I don't think you can) It hasn't held them back any. Most people that get a 450/550 will put flat bed/utility bed/box on it.

Hasn't GM been putting beds on 4500s for a while, or is that aftermarket?

I'd say that the 6500 competes with the 650.

Good stuff, looks like there all getting to wear Ford is when it comes to trucks, in every aspect of it. I have never seen a Kodiak, I have seen only Chevy Kopkicks and they suck.

here I found it.http://www.dodge.com/en/chassis_cab/features/capability.html

Towing 16,600 7900 lbs less that F-450 Chassis cab being the same.

Payload, 6,650 this being due to that fact its got a dump, instead of a box. the F-450/550 Chassis would whoop that truck.

They are pretty much identical, at least with the 8500 series that I drive. One is a 94 Topkick and the other is a 2000 Kodiak. I wouldn't say that either of them suck, and I'd also say that the 94 has less downtime than the 2000.

Mike

Edit: I just remembered the Topkick is GMC and Kodiak is Chevy. So they're essentially identical.

Keep looking, that is the link to the 3500's, not the 4500/5500's.
