81 f20 motor mount problem

81 f20 motor mount problem

ive got an 81 f250 4wd automatic. i pulled a 351m out and im putting a 460 in its place i ran into motor mount problems and jegs and summit dont carry conversion motor mounts for an 81. they only car up to 1979. what do i do is there anyone else i can call. if you want to look at the motor mounts and yalll can tell me if they would work summits are part #4226.

My best guess would be to try and find motor mounts in the junkyard for something like that.

Your style truck had a 460 from the factory. Just go to www.partsamerica.com or someplace like that, and plug in a little bit later truck, something like a 86. Plug in you have a 460 and need motor mounts. They usually have pictures on that site.

1983 was the first year in the 1980's to offer a 460 in an F Series truck. From 1983 thru 1987, the mounts and perches are the same for the 460.

Econolines offered the 460 from 1980 up, but the motor mounts, perches and mounting hardware are entirely different, and will not interchange.
