Transfer case neutral?

It is possible to put the transfer case in neutral in a 2002 Excursion? It is in almost all 4X4 vehicles so I thought it was strange there was no neutral position on the electronic transfer case position ****.

if i am not mistaken all esof sd's do not have a neutral
