Cutting Out

It seems like ever since ive installed my DP tuner F5 chip my either cuts out and "catches" itself(like it missed a cylinder) or it just stalls. The RPMs go straight to 0 and the Check engine light comes on during both of these troubles. all i have to do to start it back up is to turn the key to "off" and then start it and fires right back up...i dont understand it...i thought it was the CPS and ive changed it twice just to make sure it first one i bought wasnt faulty and it still did it. It also does it at the most random times, it did it once just idleing after 5 mins of running..and another time its happened after a 45 min drive. im going to take the DP chip out and make sure everythings ok..if the chip was somehow on wrong, would it make the truck cut out or stall?
any other ideas why its doing this?

Do you have the new cable installed?

yes came with the shielded cable

Yeah, pull the chip and see what happens. May just have a bad connection. If it runs OK, well, as well as a dog can without a chip, then you have your problem isolated.

Those connection pins can be picky at times, remove too much or not enough and you will have a problem but it shouldn't present what you are seeing. Usually works or doesn't.
